Herb corner

The gentle Mühlviertel granite landscape and the harsh climate favour the slow growth of the herbs and therefore guarantee the highest quality.

Herbs are also professionally cultivated and processed on special organic herb farms. Here we present some of the farms, recipes, interesting facts and stories about the herbs in our region.

Klaffer medicinal herb garden & Hirschbach herbal power source

In Austria's largest organic medicinal herb garden in Klaffer am Hochficht, around 1,000 different medicinal plants thrive in lovingly designed themed beds. From May to October, the garden offers guided tours, discovery tours and the popular Kräuterkirtag - a place where traditional herbal knowledge is kept alive.

The Kräuterkraftquelle in Hirschbach offers fascinating insights into the processing of local organic herbs. Here, the Austrian Mountain Herb Co-operative refines regional herbs into high-quality teas, spices and natural products. Guided tours and tastings allow visitors to experience the world of herbs with all their senses.
