We, Irene Schmitsberger and Andreas Spänhauer, run a small farm near Schiernersdorf in Neumarkt.
Our production efforts are mainly focussed on growing cereals (spelt and rye) and making bread, as well as growing vegetables and processing fruit and vegetables (fruit spreads, sugo and cakes).
To ensure a healthy cycle, we have three suckler cows that utilise our clover grass and permanent pastures, as well as around 30 chickens. This means that the vegetable fields are fertilised with cow manure from the cows, which spend the winter in a loose stable, and the cereal fields exclusively with green manure (vegan).
Direct marketing is a large part of our business. We only market directly to consumers via the weekly market and farm shops, as well as via buying groups such as the Genussfairteiler in Neumarkt.
