Unlimited cycling along the European Green Belt

Together with Czech project partners (INTERREG project), a cross-border cycle adventure route was created along the European Green Belt. The Eurovelo 13 - Iron Curtain Trail is part of a European cycle path network with a length of around 90,000 kilometres(www.de.eurovelo.com).

The Iron Curtain Trail invites you to follow in the footsteps of Europe.

Borderless cycling along the European Green Belt (ATCZ41)

The Mühlviertler Alm Freistadt Tourism Association (until 31 December 2019 the Mühlviertler Kernland Tourism Association) is developing a cross-border cycle adventure route along the European Green Belt together with the Czech project partners.

Building on the existing tourism structures, this project aims to provide a tourism boost in the region between Upper Austria and South Bohemia.

The aim is to develop the natural and cultural heritage in coordination and co-operation with the partners and to make it an experience for tourists. Through this stronger positioning, nature, culture and history at the former "Iron Curtain" contribute to a sustainable regional experience for guests and locals.

The most important results of the project are the promotion and development of the cultural and natural heritage in the shared region in various forms (e.g. publications, interactive nature trails, outdoor and indoor exhibitions). Infrastructure measures are also being implemented (e.g. cycle path, viewing tower).
