What is a “Bauernkrapfen” frying shop? The name alone piques your curiosity. We’ll show you how Bauernkrapfen are made—from the dough, which is first allowed to rest, to shaping and then frying in hot oil—handmade just as they’ve always been. You can experience this traditional craft in our modern setting—the Bauernkrapfen-Schleiferei.
In an entertaining way, you’ll learn a lot about the history and production of the Bauernkrapfen, as well as the myth that the doughnut is always pulled over Grandma’s knee.
During our sweet tour of the business, the owner (Rosi) and her daughter (Birgit) will tell you all about the business and the origins of the Bauernkrapfen. You’ll also get to sample three doughnuts with a wide selection of homemade, unique jams, along with coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.
We’ve always placed great importance on tradition. We’re a family-owned business that prioritizes quality and local ingredients.
Additives and mass-produced goods are foreign concepts in our bakery, as every doughnut here—from the small dough ball to the golden-brown finished product—is lovingly made by hand.
