EISENMETEORIT A gift from heaven - landed in the Mühlviertel region

The exhibition will be opened by DI Franz Hofstadler, Chairman of the Mühlviertel Astronomical Association, together with the finder of the meteorite, Hubert Pammer, and his daughter Lucia.

The exhibition will be ceremonially opened on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 3 p.m. and will focus on the first iron meteorite ever found in Austria - an extraordinary natural and scientific event with a strong regional connection. The iron meteorite was found by pub owner Hubert Pammer while dredging a pond in Hirschbach im Mühlkreis!

The special presentation and exhibition "Iron Meteorite" will be on display at the Bauernmöbelmuseum from Sun, April 26 to Sun, July 26, 2026 during opening hours.

What initially looked like an inconspicuous chunk of rock found while dredging a pond turned out to be a scientific sensation: the first iron meteorite ever found in Austria!
This extraordinary find is the focus of a new exhibition, which will be officially opened on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 3 p.m. at the Edlmühle Farmhouse Furniture Museum in Hirschbach.

The event will be accompanied by a special cultural highlight: the group HIRSCHBACH CONNECTION will provide a musical backdrop to the opening with a specially composed piece entitled "A Gift from Heaven" - performed live to set the festive mood.

The Kulturwirtshaus Pammer and the dedicated museum team will provide refreshments for visitors. When visiting the Kulturwirtshaus Pammer, Guttenbrunn 3, 4242 Hirschbach, guests also have the opportunity - by prior arrangement - to visit the site where the meteorite was found. Lucia Pammer has also created a special meteorite-themed dessert.
