Cross-country skiing in Leopoldschlag
Glide through glistening snow on trails lined with snow-covered fir trees and breathe in the clear, pure air of the Mühlviertel winter: cross-country skiing dreams come true in Leopoldschlag in winter!Töpferweg cross-country trail (9 - easy), 5 km: Natura 2000 area along the Maltsch on the Töpferweg, towards Hiltschen then back to Leopoldschlag to the start.
Franzosenhof trail (10 - medium), 10 km: along the Maltsch along the Töpferweg via Leitmannsdorf to the Franzosenhof (Wullowitz, trail entry possible), ascent towards Hiltschen to the horse-drawn railway viaduct towards the village of Leopoldschlag and descent back to the start
Mardetschläger trail (11 - medium), 11 km: past the sports centre along the Mardetschlägerbach stream to Mardetschlag, on to Hammern and to the connection point to Windhaag bei Freistadt (connection to Windhaag bei Freistadt), back to Mardetschlag and back to the start
Connecting trail to Rainbach im Mühlkreis (12 - easy), 3 km: via the village of Leopoldschlag and Pramhöf to Kerschbaum (connection to Rainbach im Mühlkreis)

Coming from Linz, take the A7 motorway in the direction of Prague. Continue on the S10 motorway via the Freistadt bypass. Drive through Rainbach im Mühlkreis and after about 5 kilometres you will reach the Leopoldschlag junction (heading east). After a few kilometres you will reach Leopoldschlag Ort.
From the north, drive south (Linz) via the former Wullowitz border crossing and turn left after approx. 4 kilometres in the village of "Leopoldschlag Dorf". After a few minutes you will reach Leopoldschlag.
