Kaltenberger Kutschen- und Schlittenfahrten

Take some time out with friends or family and enjoy the beautiful, tranquil Mühlviertel hills. The best way to do this is on a carriage or horse-drawn sleigh ride.

If you wish, the host will tell you a little about village life, the landscape, the Stoabloß houses, the pitch oil and shell stones or even something about our wild animals in the woods and meadows.
At the end of the tour there is a "Kutschergeist" for everyone. Other drinks will be charged.

There are 2 carriages available. One for up to 5 adults and another for up to 7 adults.
There is room for 7 adults in the horse-drawn sleigh

The carriage and sleigh rides can also be customised in terms of time and schedule.
For weddings and other festive occasions, the carriage or sleigh can also be festively decorated by Kathi, the hostess of the riding stables. This can also be organised by arrangement.
Pilgrim and hiking groups of up to 7 people can also be driven from various pick-up points to Kaltenberg or another chosen destination.

Tour 1: Inn tour (approx. 4 to 5 hours)
First we drive to Liebenstein to the cosy Landgasthof Frisch. We continue to the Thauerböck organic farm, where you can sample and buy meat and sausage products, spelt products, tea and fine spirits, as well as limited edition organic whiskey. Return to Kaltenberg to the Langoth snack station (home-made products and pastries). Return to the starting point.

Tour 2: Short loop to the Kammererkreuz (approx. 1 to 1.5 hours)
From the Reiterhof through a charming landscape and the Silberberg village ensemble, we cycle to the Kammererkreuz chapel. It was built in the typical regional Stoabloß style. On a fine day, enjoy the panoramic view as far as the Alps.

Tour 3: Nature tour to Nadelbach (approx. 2.5 to 3 hours)
From the Reiterhof we cycle to the pilgrimage church in Kaltenberg (which can be visited briefly). The trail leads over the Markersreith depression to Nadelbach. Here you will again find impressive Stoabloß houses. The chapel is also built in the same style. The return journey takes you towards Perderast Maisnester and from there via Ebenort back to the Reiterhof.
Alternative route via Silberberg and Biohof Thauerböck: approx. 1 hour longer.

Tour 4: To Liebenau to the Brockenbergwarte (approx. 3.5 hours)
From our farm, the route leads via Silberberg to Liebenstein, from there it goes over the highest pass road in Upper Austria(Kobelbergpass, 1046 m) to the Brockenbergwarte (panoramic view). Then we continue to Monegg and via Eibenberg and Silberberg back to the Reiterhof.

Tour 5: To the Tannermoor (approx. 3.5 to 4 hours)
Our destination is the Tannermoor nature reserve in Liebenau. The special vegetation of this moorland landscape, the "Lehrmüller Mauer" rock formation and the Rubenerteich pond bear witness to a natural landscape that is thousands of years old and whose preservation contributes greatly to the ecological balance in a time of climate change.
