Shopping like in 1920
In the fully stocked general shop, you can experience the shopping atmosphere of the turn of the century until 1960. As soon as you enter, you feel transported back in time. Among other things, the subject of the exhibition is the earlier commercial training, to which a large space is devoted. The history of advertising is also dealt with, whereby the old advertising media on display seem almost exotic. Also on display are sales aids from the 19th and 20th centuries. The history of office and administrative work around 1900 and the history of colonial goods are also presented in the Merchants' Museum. Of course, the museum is housed in a former department stores' in true style. This museum will not only delight a business audience, but everyone who has had and still has to do with daily shopping. In the age of the demise of the grocery store, the documentary character of a trade and merchant museum is becoming increasingly important. You can also visit us on
