Travelling along the sweeping bridleway network on horseback you’ll discover the Mühlviertel from a whole new perspective. The Granite Highlands, with their rolling hills, dense forests and lush meadowlands, are heaven on Earth for both riders and horses alike. Trail riding on intricate paths, you’ll discover the region’s diverse landscape and extensive bridleway network.
With over 700 km of riding paths and numerous stables and horse-friendly rest stops, Horse Kingdom Mühlviertler Alm has a lot to offer. Eight relaxation and adventure spots along these paths offer relaxing and varied activities for horses and humans alike. And there’s something for every horse and rider in the Bohemian Forest as well. Varied paths lead from the Bavarian border to the heart of the Mühlviertel. And the Reit-Erlebnis-Akademie Mühlviertler Kernland equestrian club in the Freistadt region invites you to enjoy unique experiences. Nestled among the Mühlviertel landscape, their focus is on learning with and from horses.
One of our 14 Austrian hosts shows us what this special moment and #austriantime feel like and what kinds of natural encounters are there to be discovered: Margit Kern, who runs the Stonehill Ranch in the Upper Austrian Mühlviertel, loves to travel by the rhythmic gait of a horse. She invites you to experience the wonderful landscape the region has to offer across 700 km of riding paths with her and her horses.
