Take a deep breath and recharge your batteries

Health and wellness are a priority here in the Mühlviertel region. Whether at the many sacred places of regeneration in the region that have served as sources of energy and meeting points for centuries or the many spas in the area that take advantage of the Mühlviertel’s natural resources to inspire guests with moments of indulgence.

Body and soul – naturally healthy

The healthy potential of the Mühlviertel becomes tangible when the soil surrenders its healing treasures - for example in Bad Zell, where the inert gas Radon is used therapeutically and enriches health-focussed holidays. In the moor and Kneipp spa town Bad Leonfelden even today the natural healing moor mud is used to prevent and treat ailments. At the health resort Lebensquell Bad Zell, in addition to Radon therapy, a whole body cold chamber is used.

Strength comes from calm

From where does the Mühlviertel region draw its strength and energy? They say it comes from deep down, where the granite has been slumbering away for millions of years. Others say it is part of the character of the landscape. On one point, however, they can agree: Mühlviertel is a region full of sacred places of regeneration. Granite stones in the forest, river courses and viewpoints capture nature’s energy.

The Mühlviertel Waldluftbaden study is Europe’s first medical forest study and proves the beneficial effects the forest has on health.

Bathe in the forest air of the Mühlviertel region

Waldluftbaden, literally “bathing in the forest air”, combines nature and tradition, health and mindfulness. Diving into the healing space of the Mühlviertel forest means feeling calm and clarity, strengthening your immune system, relieving the strain on your circulation and nerves, experiencing places of power, absorbing fresh energy and slowing down to your very core.
Feel, strengthen and be yourself.
