Next to Riedegg Palace is Riedegg Castle. Riedegg Castle was first mentioned around 1150. In the 16th century it was rebuilt into a castle. Just under 100 years later, the Riedegg castle and palace burned down. As a result, only the castle was rebuilt, but the adjacent castle was left to decay.
