Many different techniques are used until a candle is artistically finished by hand - carving, painting, mottling - to name just a few production processes. In 1980, the family business "Kerzenwelt Donabauer" was founded. The necessary expertise was brought in by Mrs. Erna Donabauer, whose passion had been the production of handmade candles long before. Mrs. Donabauer designed a new type of decorative candle - the so-called hand-carved candle. The most famous face in the candle world is probably the detailed replica of the Viennese servant Hans Moser, which was rather spared by the fire in summer 2016 and could still be restored. Around 10,000 different handcrafted models are currently available. A colourful selection of the candle assortment fills the rooms and shelves of Kerzenwelt in Aigen-Schlägl. At any time of the year, candles bring light and warmth into our lives, especially at Christmas or All Saints' Day they are inseparable from our customs. At Easter, baptism, wedding or Mother's Day - a candle is always a positive symbol and a gift that brings joy.
