The encounter with the unknown, the mythical, the different e.g. an ancient town. The mix of old and new. Old buildings, where people lived and fought for centuries, destroied and rebuilt. This diversity, light and dark and still a whole are often starting points of my works. This facination often inspires unexpected pictures. Etchings can be printed on top of eachother, sometimes they are covered with transparent layers, which gives the impression of light and set the focus on the dark so the structures appear stronger. I work on paintings in layers and use different materials like sand, fabric or paper, thus creating a sense of freedom. The work with different materials and the use of various techniques gives me the freedom to put my feelings into my works. A interaction of simplicity and complexity. A challenge I gladly accept.
