Approximately in the centre of the market, the beautiful church with its high tower stands as a stone monument and a constant reminder to the inhabitants. It stands on a hill and thus towers above all the houses in the market by a good distance, offering travellers the town's first greetings. It forms the centrepiece of the market.
Reichenau, also called the "Holy Blood" of the Mühlviertel, takes its name from its dominant, late Gothic church.
The church, which was built in 1473 with its beautiful ribbed vault and the slender pointed helmet tower, is an architectural gem.
Masses on Sundays at 7.30 a.m. and 9.30 a.m.
