Blue dyeing and blue printing, which played a major role in the rural population (work clothes, traditional costumes, etc.), were very popular and well-known here. Blue dyeing and blue printing usually took place on Monday mornings. While the dyed fabrics were hung up to dry, the dyers always went to the nearest pub. This gave rise to the expression "Blue Monday" or "Blaumachen". That in itself would not be worth mentioning, but today's "Färberwirt" inn was once home to a dye works and one son of this dyeing family was a certain Tobias Haslinger (1787-1842) This Tobias Haslinger was a musician and composer in Linz but then went to Vienna, where he published most of the works of Beethoven (1770-1827), Schubert (1797-1828), Lanner and Strauss (1804-1849) as a music publisher.
