The colorful Hirschbach Rustic Furniture captures images of the sumptuous rural living culture of the 18th century.
The production of precious furniture in traditional rustic style reached its peak at the beginning of the 19th century. Hirschbach is famous for the so-called ""Mühlviertel Rustic Furniture"" comprising chests, shrines, cupboards, special baskets, tables, benches and beds.
The precious items, characterized by valuable ornaments, are still very popular among collectors.

The HIRSCHBACH RUSTIC FURNITURE MUSEUM was opened in 1992. The Museum is operated by the "Friends of HIRSCHBACH´s Rustic Furniture" Association that was founded in 1991.
The Museum aims at providing visitors with insights into the rural life of yesteryear by displaying this recognised traditional furniture collection.
What´s more, the Museum offers a Shop where you can purchase skilled handiwork made by local farmer´s wives, picture postcards, books, and more.
The log furniture on display shines forth with the love of hours of attention by real craftsmen as it was painstakingly peeled from the log and carved into a beautiful example of Austrian style rustic furniture. Local women added intricate pictures and designs to the wood as it moved along the handcrafting process. Parts of the collection are privately owned thus the exhibits are changed continuously.
Special exhibitions and shows are organized at the Rustic Furniture Museum throughout the year.
