The gently undulating but demanding landscape north of the Danube surprises - with sporting challenges, scenic beauty and genuine solitude on two wheels. The Mühlviertel is one of the four historic districts of Upper Austria. Characterized by the granite and gneiss highlands of the Bohemian Massif, it offers ideal conditions for challenging cycle tours: constant ups and downs, hardly any flat passages, deep valleys that run through the rock along old river courses - and a vastness that is second to none. In the north, the region borders directly on the Czech Republic - where the impressive Vltava reservoir is located, which can be perfectly incorporated into longer tours.
