We will hike along the border between the Nationalpark Sumava and the Natura 2000 European reserves in Austria and the Czech Republic. On the way, we will encounter gigantic ancient trees, granite boulders, boulder forts, deadwood and nurse-log reproduction. This way, we gather borderline experiences about growth and decay of the forest as well as about nature conservation, bark beetles and economizing with the renewable resource wood.
The hike takes us from the cultivated Natura 2000 Böhmerwald (Bohemian Forest) and Mühltäler area to the Nationalpark Sumava in the Czech Republic.
Throughout the day, you will be able to enjoy unique views and insights into the Böhmerwald's nature. Gigantic ancient trees, granite boulders and boulder forts, deadwood as well as nurse-log reproduction are the topics of the hike.
Depending on the demands and desires of the group, length and difficulty of the route can be adjusted.
