Genussland Oberösterreich (region of indulgence Upper Austria)
Under the umbrella brand Genussland Oberösterreich, an initiative was started already in 2003 in Upper Austria to strengthen agriculture and the local food industry with the aim of making consumers aware of the high quality and social significance of regional and seasonal food.
Genussland Oberösterreich therefore connects agriculture, processing commercial businesses, Upper Austria Tourism, restaurateurs, accommodation providers and the grocery trade for their mutual benefit. Synergies increase the added value and strengthen the food industry location Upper Austria.
For a long time, the Upper Austrian agriculture has been an integral part of the cultural identity of the country and a decisive element of its society. The Alpine and pre-Alpine landscape encourages small structures and prevents mass production. Upper Austrian agricultural producers and commercial processors therefore focus more on quality than quantity and offer affordable premium products with a broad variety. The quality advantages result from the use of high quality basic products produced in the country in connection with traditional production methods that have been passed down for generations.
Products from Upper Austria represent genuine, unmistakable indulgence. Every region, every quarter has a typical culinary speciality to offer that fulfils the highest possible quality demands. The initiative “Genussland Oberösterreich” wants to publicise this regionally specific delicacies, promote regional procurement, support the restaurant industry and strengthen tourism.
